The "Island Commander" Upper photo #1: Leaving Prince Rupert Harbour, 1980, (67 years after it's first arrival there), towing barge "Powell Carrier", while chartered to RivTow.
Lower photo: Leaving Toquart Bay, Barclay Sound, with Miller self-dumping hopper barge, a 90 project, summer 1998, towing to Willapa Bay, Wa., to stabilize 'Washaway Beach", a 4 tug, 4 barge project.

Upper Photo #3 of "Larain" of Island - Sea Marine 1990. Tug "Larain", ex "Caltex Pandu" designed by CDED of General Motors Corp. (Cleveland Diesel Electric Division), built by Gulfport Shipbuilding, Port Arthur, Texas, 1956.
Lower Photo #3 taken after the Cleveland 16-278A diesel removed by Ken Higgs, replaced with a GM EMD 16-567C engine, connected to the diesel electric drive-train.

Boat traffic was real heavy at this intersection so they put in an overpass!! This is a channel-bridge over the River Elbe and joins the former East and West Germany, as part of the unification project. It is located in the city of Magdeburg, near Berlin . The photo as taken on the day of inauguration. Six years, 500 million euros, 918 meters long. Regards.

The Skandi Mogster is a : AHTS / Oil Recovery / FI-FI / Rescue. She was built in Norway in 1998, and is 73.6 meters long, has 15.000 Hp Wartsila Diesel. Bollard pull is 192 t. Tow wire is 2000 mtr. long, with a diameter of 76mm, (3"). I have worked on this one for 3 years, in the Gulf of Mexico and in the Mediterranean |
